Do you like food and typography? Check out Gastrotypographicalassemblage, a 3-D mural designed by Lou Dorfsman, along with Herb Lubalin and Tom Carnase, for the CBS cafeteria in 1966. Graphic Icons has great photos, along with some process sketches. When CBS wanted to throw it away in the 1990s, designer Nick Fasiano saved and stored it, and restored it with the help of Rick Anwyl and Atlanta’s Center for Design Study. It will soon be on view at its new home, Hyde Park, NY’s Culinary Institute of America. The Daily Heller has a great article on the restoration.
